PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation imaging apparatus and a radiation imaging system capable of increasing compression ratio in compressing image data obtained through radiation imaging.SOLUTION: To create data for compressed and thinned images, the radiation imaging apparatus 1 performs a thinning process in the direction of a signal line at a prescribed rate for data for one image so as to create image for thinned images, creates difference data in the direction of a scanning line for each image data making up the data for the thinned images, and performs a compression process on the difference data. To create data for one compressed image, the radiation imaging apparatus creates difference data in the direction of the signal line for each image data making up the data for the one image, and performs a compression process on the difference data.
