A thoracic restraint and safety device, comprising a restraint harness (2) configured to adjust to the upper part of the back of a patient (P)； a first fastening strap (3) extending laterally from the restraint harness (2), and having a first joining end (31)； and a second fastening strap (4) extending laterally from the restraint harness (2) in the opposite direction to the first fastening strap (3), and having a second joining end (41). Both joining ends (31, 41) are configured to join together around a bed or stretcher (C).
