PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism highly accurately estimating a normal structure of a layer constituting an object.
SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus includes an image acquisition unit 210 configured to acquire a tomographic image of the object, a layer detection unit 221 configured to detect the layer that constitutes the object from the tomographic image acquired by the image acquisition unit 210, and a normal structure estimation unit 222 configured to estimate the normal structure of the layer based on the layer detected by the layer detection unit 221 and a feature that is deformed by a lesion of the layer.
