PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Co-based casting alloy for biomedical applications which has strength and ductility in a good balance, is excellent in cutting workability, and can be suitably used as a material for an artificial bone, and to provide a method for manufacturing the Co-based casting alloy for biomedical applications.

SOLUTION: The alloy includes, by mass, 26-30% Cr, 5-8% Mo, 0.01 to 0.08% C, 0.12 to 0.25% N, and less than 100 ppm (excluding 0 ppm) O, and the balance Co with unavoidable impurities, wherein the spacing of secondary dendrite arm of a metal texture formed when the cast alloy solidifies has an average value of 40 &mum or less.
