The invention relates to an iodinated CT contrast agent made of fatty acid derivatives for noninvasive visualisation and quantification of the brown and/or beige adipose tissue (BAT) or for imaging the heart and/or liver of a subject. Advantageously, this contrast agent is to be taken orally which is a breakthrough in CT imaging.
