PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod that allows easy gripping and easy operation, by altering a rod body itself which has a reel seat attached thereto.SOLUTION: An opening 1B which communicates with the interior space B of a butt rod 1, is formed in a peripheral face positioned on an opposite side of a reel leg-attaching part of the reel seat 2 in the butt rod 1.
