PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary blade for a bush cutter, capable of reducing loads to the power source of the bush cutter, improving cutting ability and suppressing the peripheral scatter of the cut weeds and the like.

SOLUTION: The rotary blade for a bush cutter comprises a holding element 1 which is attached on a rotary blade attaching shaft of a bush cutter B to be rotated, and has a mechanism receiving a long cord to wind and sending out the cord, cord-like cutting elements 4 whose base end is held on the holding element 1 so that the elements are sent out by the mechanism sending out the cord, and a case 2 which monolithically rotates with the holding element 1 and receives the holding element, wherein, on the case 2, a protecting element 3 which projects in a flange shape to the outside from the holding element 1 in the rotation radius direction and is detachable against the case 2, is provided, and the cord-like cutting elements 4 project, on the condition of extending to the outside in the radius direction, a part of their tip end side from the protecting element 3.
