PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress decline of operability in a catheter having a guide wire tube.SOLUTION: A suction catheter 10 includes a catheter body 11. The catheter body 11 includes a suction tube 14 and a guide wire tube 15 joined to a distal end side of the suction tube 14. The suction tube 14 has an intermediate layer 29 in a peripheral wall of the suction tube 14 in which a knitted body 30 formed by winding a reinforcing wire 35 in the axial direction of the suction tube 14 is buried. The intermediate layer 29 extends to the distal end side further than a proximal end of the guide wire tube 15 from the proximal side of the guide wire tube 15 in the axial direction.
