PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter allowing excellent fastening of a core wire to a hypotube while preventing that a portion wherein hardness rapidly becomes high occurs in a cutout formation part.SOLUTION: This balloon catheter 10 provided with a hub 20 on the base end side and a balloon 40 on the distal end side includes: the hypotube 31 formed with the cutout formation part 31b on the distal end side an outer tube 32 wherein a base end part is joined to the base end side rather than the cutout formation part 31b of the hypotube 31 and which extends to the distal end side rather than the hypotube 31 from a junction portion 32a thereof and the core wire 33 inserted through a lumen of the hypotube 31 and a lumen of the outer tube 32 to the distal end side from a start point adjacent part 31a1.
