System for administering gas to a patient in order to produce a conscious sedation in the patient, said system comprising: (a) a source of oxygen (16)； (b) a reservoir (12) containing a halogenated ether or a halothane as the gas to produce conscious sedation； (c) heating means (14) operatively associated with the tank (12) containing a halogenated ether or a halothane and means for detecting the ambient temperature in relation to control with the heating means, to compensate for changes in ambient temperature conditions； (d) an administration conduit 15 (22) comprising - a pair of inputs connected to the oxygen source (16) and the reservoir (12), respectively； - an exit； - a pressure regulator (18) and a flow meter (20) connected in fluid communication, the pressure regulator (18) being in fluid communication with the inlet of the administration conduit connected to the oxygen source (16) and the flow meter being (20) in fluid communication with the outlet of the administration conduit (22)； - the conduit (22) being configured to measure the dose of the gas that produces conscious sedation up to +/- 0.1% gas flow, or less, to mix it in strict proportions with the oxygen； and (e) means for transporting the mixture from the outlet of the administration conduit (22) to a patient； wherein the conduit is configured to regulate the flow of gas and the concentration of agent to the limit of conscious sedation such that said mixture comprises halogenated ether or halothane in a concentration that is not greater than 0.636 MAC, expressed as equivalent to minimum alveolar content (MAC) of 70% nitrous oxide mixed with 30% oxygen, which causes immobility in 50% of patients.Sistema para administrar gas a un paciente a efectos de producir una sedación consciente en el paciente, comprendiendo dicho sistema: (a) una fuente de oxígeno (16)； (b) un depósito (12) que contiene un éter halogenado o un halotano como el gas para producir la sedación consciente； (c) medios de calentamient
