The present invention relates generally to the use of eltrombopag in combination with an anti-CD20 antibody to treat thrombocytopenia, suitably immune thrombocytopenia purpura. In one embodiment, the present invention relates a method of treating, thrombocytopenia, suitably immune thrombocytopenia purpura, suitably rituximab refractory immune thrombocytopenia purpura, in a human patient, comprising the step of administering to the patient an anti-CD20 antibody in combination with eltrombopag, suitably eltrombopag olamine. In one embodiment, the administration is simultaneous. In another embodiment, the administration is sequential in which eltrombopag, suitably eltrombopag olamine is administered first. Yet in another embodiment, an anti-CD20 antibody is administered first.
