PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planter for a pillar-shaped structure which is allowed to introduce rainwater flowing on the outer peripheral surface of a pillar-shaped structure, into the planter. SOLUTION: This planter 1 for a pillar-shaped structure is attached to the outer peripheral surface of a telegraph pole, and formed by uniting two bottomed containers 10. The container 10 includes an inner wall part 4 formed in a recessed form capable of contacting the outer peripheral surface of the telegraph pole, an outer wall part 6 formed in a taper-like form so as to reduce a lower part diameter, a side wall part 5 connecting both the ends of the inner wall part 4 and the outer wall part 6, and a bottom part 7 forming the bottom of the container 10. Furthermore, an intake groove 8a which extends to the upper end along the axial direction of the telegraph pole 2, and gradually reduces the thickness of the inner wall part 4 toward the upper side is provided at the upper part of the inner wall part 4, and a slit-like drain hole 9 is formed on the lower part of the outer wall part 6 and the bottom part 7.
