The present invention relates to Lactobacillus salivarius MG242 isolated from a vagina, and a pharmaceutical composition, health functional food, and quasi-drug composition which includes the same as an active ingredient to suppress the proliferation of pathogens of Candida albicans which is eumycetes causing vaginitis. The Lactobacillus salivarius MG242 exhibits anti-Candida activity of suppressing Candida albicans causing candidal colpitis, and has excellent cell hydrophobic autoagglutination capability.
