PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with a garment-like appearance that exhibits a smooth and continuous waist edge without discontinuities or drops.SOLUTION: A disposable absorbent article includes a chassis having a front region 36 with a front edge, a rear region 38 with a back edge, a crotch region 37 between the front region and the rear region and a rear waist section, and a pair of opposing longitudinal edges. The disposable absorbent article may include a chassis, an absorbent core 28, a pair of elastically elongatable rear ears 42, and a pair of fastening tabs. The elastically elongatable ears and the fastening tabs have a transverse axis. The ears are connected to the chassis such that the transverse axis of the fastening tabs is located in specific portions of the article.
