In various embodiments neurotrophins, such as Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide (PACAP) can be used for the treatment methodologies contained herein. In one embodiment, a method of treatment of Alzheimer's Disease by administering a composition comprising PACAP.
