A mount for a safety device for use in association with a medical needle 0projecting from a generally cylindrical carrier (12) having three or four circumferentially-spaced ribs (15) upstanding from and extending substantially parallel to the axis of the carrier. The mount has a tubular support (17) including a wall (19) having a central aperture (22) through which the carrier extends when in use with the wall lying in a substantially radial plane with respect to the carrier. The aperture (22) is profiled to surround the carrier (12) and has recesses (23) for receiving the carrier ribs (15).
