A solar energy-driven automated rainwater harvesting system for an elevated road, the system comprising an upper water port (2) provided on an elevated road (1). Rainwater collected from the elevated road (1) passes through a water inlet pipe (3) from the upper water port (2) and flows into a container (11). A resistive filter (6) and a stirring unit (8) are provided in the container (11). A vibration motor (14) drives the resistive filter (6) to vibrate. The stirring unit (8) is located below the resistive filter (6). A water outlet (13) is provided at a lower portion of the container (11). A control unit (7) controls the water outlet (13) to open or close. Also provided is an automated rainwater harvesting method for an elevated road applicable to the solar energy-driven automated rainwater harvesting system for an elevated road.
