The present invention relates to a Brucella abortus mutant strain in which one or more genes selected from the group consisting of cydC, cydD, and purD have been deleted from a Brucella abortus BA15 strain. More specifically, the present invention relates to: a Brucella abortus mutant strain lacking cydC, cydD or purD from a Brucella abortus BA15 strain； a brucellosis vaccine composition containing the mutant strain； and a method for preventing brucellosis including a step of administering the mutant strain to an animal, other than human, requiring the same.
