PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a conventional material for treating excrement of an animal has anxiety of not being degraded in an aseptic tank and polluting a surrounding water area when being flushed into a flush toilet because the material is composed of an inorganic material or a synthetic fiber.SOLUTION: The material 1 for treating the excrement of the animal is a granular material having a core layer 2 comprising fibers 4, and a skin layer 3 covering the core layer 2. The skin layer 3 contains a pregelatinized starch 6 and the fiber 5. The treating material 1 has a rapid rate of absorbing the excrement, and is joined to each other by the pregelatinized starch when absorbing the excrement. The treating material 1 is readily hydrolyzed when being flushed into the flush toilet and arriving at the aseptic tank, and is bio-degraded to allow the material 1 to be flushed in the toilet without anxiety.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】 従来の動物用の排泄物処理材は、無機物や合繊を用いていたため、水洗トイレに流したときに、浄化槽内で生分解できず、また周辺水域の汚染の心配があった。【解決手段】 動物用排泄物処理材1は、繊維4を含有するコア層2とこれを被覆するスキン層3とを有する粒状体である。前記スキン層3はα化デンプン6及び繊維5を含有する。この処理材1は、排泄物の吸収速度が速く、また排泄物の吸収時にはα化デンプンにより処理材1どうしが容易に接合する。さらにこの処理材1は水洗トイレに流し浄化槽に至ったときに、容易に水解し、また生分解するため、安心してトイレに流すことができる。【選択図】 図1
