The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating allergic diseases, wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains a straw extract as an active ingredient. The straw extract of the present invention decreases the production amount of allergy-causing cytokines (TNF-&alpha；, IL-4, and IL-5) and controls the production of MCP-1 and IL-6 which are inflammatory cytokines. Accordingly, the straw extract of the present invention can be usefully used as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating various allergic diseases such as edema, hyperergia, allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, skin allergies, asthma, and urticaria.본 발명은 짚 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 알러지 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 약제학적 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 짚 추출물은 알러지 유발 사이토카인(TNF-α, IL-4 및 IL-5)의 생성량을 감소시키고, 염증성 사이토카인인 MCP-1 및 IL-6의 생성을 억제한다. 따라서, 본 발명의 짚 추출물은 부종, 과민증, 알러지성 피부염, 접촉성 피부염, 아토피성 피부염, 피부 알러지, 천식 또는 두드러기 같은 다양한 알러지 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 약제학적 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
