PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicine or a food and drink, having suppressing actions on cytolytic activities in an alimentary canal and imparted thereto by blending a microbial cell of a microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium therein. SOLUTION: This suppressant for cytolytic activities in an alimentary canal comprises a microbial cell of a microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium as an active ingredient. The medicine or a food and drink, having suppressing actions on the cytolytic activities in the alimentary canal and imparted thereto is obtained by culturing the microorganism belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium in a synthetic culture medium, etc., under anaerobic conditions, recovering the resultant microbial cell and suitably blending the prepared microbial cell therein.
