Disclosed is an electric fence connector (1). The connector includes an elongate body (2) having live engagement means (15) one end and a live barrier attachment means (13) at the other end. The live engagement means and live barrier attachment means are conductively connected. The maximum lateral dimension of the connector is less than 42mm, allowing passage through an aperture, such as a pigtail, of an electric fence standard. The connector may further have an isolated engagement means (10) at the one end, which is electrically isolated from the live engagement means and the live barrier attachment means. The connector may further comprise an isolated barrier attachment means. The maximum lateral dimension may be less than 40mm or 35mm. The barrier attachment may be formed by three or more apertures or slots (7, 8, 16) in the body of the connector. The handle is produced by injection moulding over the conductive element (12) joining the live engagement means to the live barrier engagement means.
