The present invention relates to a new strain, Pediococcus pentosaceus showing antimicrobial activity and an antimicrobial composition containing the same as an active ingredient. The pentosaceus NIBR96 strain and a culture medium thereof according to the present invention exhibit excellent antimicrobial activity against a variety of bacteria, and thus can be effectively used for antimicrobial purposes in various fields such as medicine, food or feed additive composition.본 발명은 항균 활성을 나타내는 신균주 페디오코커스 펜토사세우스 및 이를 유효성분으로 함유하는 항균 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 펜토사세우스 NIBR96 균주 및 그 배양액은 다양한 균들에 대해 우수한 항균 활성을 나타내므로, 의약, 식품 또는 사료 첨가제 조성물 등의 다양한 분야에서 항균 목적으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
