The method involves dividing a longitudinally extending strip (26) into segments (20), where the strip is provided by cutting a flat or strip-shaped raw material. Cuts are guided only up to remaining breadth of the strip, so that the segments adjoined to the cuts include a material bridge (38). The strip is completed to a ring (22) under merging of its ends, and cutting edges (40) of the cuts running to the material bridge enclose an acute angle. The ring is utilized as a membrane ring or a test strip ring for a test device in a carrier structure i.e. housing. An independent claim is also included for a ring magazine comprising a carrier structure.
