PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type mower and a mowing method capable of suppressing occurrence of an accident that a scattering stone hits a worker or the like or a cutter is damaged due to contact with an obstacle when performing mowing work in a part along the obstacle and capable of reducing a mental burden or physical burden on a worker.SOLUTION: A walking type mower 1 includes: a body 2 an operation handle 3 a cutter 4 a guard body 5 protecting the cutter 4 a cutter support part 6 connecting the cutter 4 and the body 2 and a power transmission shaft (not shown in the figure) stored in the cutter support part 6. The cutter 4 is attached at a tip of a support rod 61 and comprises: an upper circular blade 41 a lower circular blade 42 a speed reducer 43 and a vegetation removal part 44. The operation handle 3 can adjust an angle in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction through a handle angle adjustment part 33.
