This invention relates to a herbal composition effective against Arthritis comprising of Azaraqi mudabbar (Stryhnos nux-vomica Linn.) in an amount of 60-70 mg and Zanjabeel (Zingiber officinal Rose.) in an amount of 60-70 mg. and also this invention relates to a process for preparation of a herbal composition effective against Arthritis as claimed in claim 1 comprising steps of detoxification of Azaraqi seeds followed by powdering, pulverization of dry zanjabeel, and mixing of the above in a mass mixer added with preservative such as sodium benzoate in concentration of 0.1-0.15% and moistened with purified water followed by drying at 55-75°C for 3-4 hrs.
