A medical probe includes an insertion tube having adistal end configured for insertion into a body of apatient and containing a lumen for conveying anirrigation fluid and an electrical conductor forconveying electrical energy. A conductive cap isattached to the distal end of the insertion tube andcoupled electrically to the electrical conductor. Theconductive cap has an outer surface perforated bymultiple apertures and defines an inner cavity in fluidcommunication with the lumen of the insertion tube so asto permit the irrigation fluid from the lumen to flow outof the cap through the apertures. A plurality oftemperature sensors are mounted within the conductive capin thermal communication with the outer surface and arethermally insulated from the irrigation fluid in theinner cavity.
