PURPOSE: A display apparatus and a display method are provided to easily determine an exact photographing position of a patient and a patient posture at a photographing process by displaying descriptive data of a medical image on a proper location in a mimetic diagram of a human body. CONSTITUTION: A display device(1) comprises a controller(10), a monitor(104), a mouse(105), and a keyboard(106). The controller comprises a central processing unit(100), a main memory(101), a magnetic disc(102), and a display memory(103). The central processing unit executes all kinds of controls like communication control of a medical image database(2) and the control of the image display apparatus to execute a program saved in the main memory. The central processing unit controls the operation of each element of the display device. The magnetic disc stores an operating system, a device drive of peripheral devices, and all kinds of application software including a program for diagnosis support processing.
