PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a candidate compound effective as a treatment agent for cardiac disease.SOLUTION: The method for screening a candidate compound for cardiac disease treatment agent includes: using a fish with myocardial cell-specific expression of a madrepore-derived Kaede protein that changes the wavelength of florescence emitted by stimulation, damaging the heart of the fish in a regenerable manner, visualizing a damaged site which is regenerated by giving the candidate compound for cardiac disease treatment agent, and quantifying the extent of the regeneration.【課題】心疾患に対する治療剤として有効な候補化合物をスクリーニングする方法を提供する。【解決手段】刺激によって発する蛍光の波長が変化するイシサンゴ由来のＫａｅｄｅ蛋白質を、心筋細胞特異的に発現させた魚類を用い、該魚類の心臓に再生可能な損傷を加えた後に、心疾患治療剤候補化合物を与えて、再生した損傷部位を可視化し再生の程度を定量化する事により、該治療薬をスクリーニングする方法。【選択図】なし
