The handheld X-ray interface device (38) includes a wireless interface (124) for communicating with an imaging system (12) and a user-viewable screen (46) configured to display patient data (184) and to receive user input. In another embodiment, a method is provided for viewing patient data (184) on a handheld X-ray interface device (38).
