PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation operation member for adjusting brake force capable of adjusting a rotation state of a spool by applying brake force to rotation of a spool in a state of feeding a fishing line, and in addition, capable of performing continuously, both of an easy rotation operation by fingers of a hand which holds a handle and an instant handle rotation winding shift operation by the hand which holds the handle, in real fishing time, in a reasonable manner, and a fishing reel comprising the rotation operation member.SOLUTION: The fishing reel of the invention comprises: a spool brake mechanism for applying brake force to rotation of a fishing line feeding direction of a spool shaft which integrally rotates to the spool by a rotation operation of a rotation operation member 60 for adjusting brake force which is supported to one side plate 3b of a reel body in a rotatable manner.
