A registration device (1) for patient registration comprises at least one reference marker (2) adapted to be sensed by an imaging system (5) and/or at least one position element (3) adapted to be localized by a position sensing system (6), and fixation means (4) for positioning the registration device (1) in a patient's body cavity at a location comprising soft tissue.
