The subject of the present invention is a machine for pre-trimming and cutting shrubs. It consists of the combination of a chassis (1) which can be hitched up to an agricultural tractor and which first of all carries a horizontal rotor (2) the shaft of which is supported by flanged (soled) rings, and formed of two perpendicular frames (9, 10) each one carrying two blades of trapezoidal shape parallel to the said shaft, next, a cutting assembly composed of a circular saw blade (3) of vertical axis (15) located below the horizontal rotor (2) and of two or four side cutters (4) the width of which can be adjusted, and finally a removable system for collecting the waste, composed of a hopper (bin) (7) and of a lifting conveyor. The device makes it possible mechanically to pre-trim vine tendrils and other shrubs whilst at the same time as cutting making sure that the debris is collected thereby preventing it from spreading out over the growing site.
