The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition containing extracts from Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc. and Lithospermum erythrorhizom Sieb. et Zucc. for preventing or treating obesity, dyslipidemia, fatty liver, or diabetes. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention causes decreases in the level of blood cholesterol and body fat, an increase in the expression of CPT-1, a nuclear transcription factor playing an important role in oxidation or synthesis of fat, and decreases in the expression of ACC-1 and SREBP-1c, thereby ultimately showing an effect of preventing or treating obesity. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention improves accumulation of fat in the liver tissue by decreasing the content of fat in the liver tissue, thereby showing effects of preventing fatty liver, suppressing the progress of fatty liver, or improving the disease status. The present invention provides a food composition containing extracts from Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc. and Lithospermum erythrorhizom Sieb. et Zucc. for improving or relieving obesity, dyslipidemia, fatty liver, or diabetes.본 발명은 오매 및 자초 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 비만, 이상지방혈증, 지방간 또는 당뇨의 예방 또는 치료용 약제학적 조성물을 제공한다. 본 발명은 조성물은 혈액 내 콜레스테롤 감소, 체지방량의 감소, 지방산화 또는 합성에 중요한 역할을 담당하는 핵전사요소인 CPT-1의 발현 증가, ACC-1 및 SREBP-1c의 발현 감소를 초래하여, 궁극적으로 비만의 예방 또는 치료 효과를 나타낸다. 본 발명의 조성물은 간 조직 내에 존재하는 지질함량을 감소시킴으로써 간 조직 내의 지방축적을 개선하여 지방간 발생의 예방, 진행 억제 또는 질병 상태를 호전시키는 효과를 나타낸다. 본 발명은 오매 및 자초 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 비만, 이상지방혈증, 지방간 또는 당뇨의 개선 또는 완화용 식품 조성물을 제공한다.
