A tissue slitting apparatus comprises a shaft having a proximal and a distal end, wherein the shaft includes an inner lumen running from the proximal to the distal end, wherein the lumen is configured to receive an implanted object； and a tissue slitting tip disposed adjacent to the distal end of the shaft, the tissue slitting tip comprising a tip distal end and a plurality of optical fibers disposed at the tip distal end, wherein the plurality of optical fibers separate a first portion, but not a second portion, of a tissue growth around at least a portion of the implanted object.
