PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility and to more effectively use the display area of a display.SOLUTION: An imaging element 30 includes a rectangular imaging surface. The dimension in a second direction of the imaging surface is larger than the dimension in a first direction of the imaging surface. Light after passing through a first objective optical system forms a first image in the first imaging area of the imaging surface and light after passing through a second objective optical system forms a second image in the second imaging area of the imaging surface. The first imaging area and the second imaging area are arranged side by side in the second direction. A display 33 includes a rectangular display surface. The dimension in a fourth direction of the display surface is larger than the dimension in a third direction of the display surface. When a monocular display mode is selected, the second direction in the first image is coincident with the third direction and the first direction in the first image is coincident with the fourth direction.
