A purified / isolated antibody or antibody fragment, wherein the antibody or fragment immunospecifically binds to the Staphylococcus aureus alpha toxin polypeptide and contains: (a) CDR1 VH containing an amino acid sequence identical to SEQ ID NO: 7, 10, 13 or 69 or containing 1, 2 or 3 substitutions of amino acid residues in relation to them； (b) CDR2 VH containing an amino acid sequence identical to SEQ ID NO: 8, 11, 14, 17, 70 or 75 or containing 1, 2 or 3 substitutions of amino acid residues according to relation to them, and (c) CDR3 VH containing the amino acid sequence, ident primary SEQ ID NO: 9, 12, 15, 18, 16, 65, 66, 67, 71, 72, 76 or 78, or containing 1, 2 or 3 substitutions of amino acid residues with respect to them. 2.
