The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a composition for preventing the adsorption of Fusobacterium to mucosal cells； and a pharmaceutical composition and a food or beverage composition, for preventing or treating a disease or symptom caused by inflammation of mucosal cells and selected from the group consisting of ulcerative colitis, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, premature delivery, and periodontosis. The problem is solved by: a composition for preventing the adsorption of Fusobacterium to mucosal cells, containing Bifidobacterium as an active ingredient； and a pharmaceutical composition and a food or beverage composition each containing Bifidobacterium as an active ingredient, for preventing or treating a disease or symptom caused by inflammation of mucosal cells and selected from the group consisting of ulcerative colitis, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, premature delivery, and periodontosis.
