PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subject holding device that fixes a body of a subject sufficiently and reliably in the particle beam therapy.SOLUTION: A subject holding device includes a subject fixing jig 14 for fixing a subject 8 placed on a subject placing table 12 to the subject placing table 12. The subject fixing jig 14 includes an airtight bag body 28 for cylindrically covering a portion or whole of the body of the subject 8. The bag body 28 is filled with multiple particulate materials 38 in the inside 28i, and the inside 28i is brought into a negative pressure, and thereby the change of a shape is suppressed. The subject fixing jig 14 includes loop fasteners 22a, 22b and joints 24a, 24b as fixing members for fixing a relative position of the bag body 28 to the subject placing table 12.
