In some illustrative examples, a storage bridge suitable for treating a tissue site may include a bridge envelope, an absorbent material, and a sealing member. The bridge envelope may extend along a length of the storage bridge, and may define an internal volume. The absorbent material may be disposed within the internal volume of the bridge envelope. The absorbent material may include a volume that is less than the internal volume of the bridge envelope. The sealing member may encapsulate the bridge envelope and may define an internal passageway in fluid communication between a receiving end of the storage bridge and a transmitting end of the storage bridge.
