PURPOSE: An ultrasound transducer and a method for manufacturing an ultrasound transducer are provided to prevent adjacent electrical contacts of an interpose from electrically shorting by using electrically conductive adhesive that is anisotropically conductive. CONSTITUTION: An interposer (38) includes a substrate (56) and conductive elements (50) that electrically connect an array of acoustic elements (14) to an integrated circuit (36). The array of acoustic elements, the integrated circuit, and the interposer are arranged in a stack. The interposer is extended between the integrated circuit and the array of acoustic elements within the stack. An electrically conductive adhesive (40) is engaged with the conductive elements of the interposer.
