599834 Disclosed is a roller cleaning assembly (10) for a grass or turf roller of the type which has a least one smoothing head (11) with at least one smoothing roller (14). The roller cleaning assembly comprises a brush roller housing (27), which contains at least one rotatably mounted brush roller (31, 32). The brush roller housing is releasably mounted in a hollow cavity (28) in the body (20) of the smoothing head. Each brush roller has at least one spiral brush (34) and/or spiral wiper blade. When the brush roller housing is mounted inside the hollow cavity of the body the brush rollers mount adjacent and parallel to the smoothing rollers, such that, when driven, the brush rollers clean the external surfaces of the adjacent smoothing rollers and deposit the clippings or other waste in collector sections (33, 33A, 33B) in the roller housing. The brush rollers are rotatably driven by the smoothing rollers via friction drive rollers (41).
