A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount of: a) at least one beta-lactam antibiotic or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, b) a sulbactam or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and c) at least one beta-lactamase inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof , provided that the inhibitor of beta-lactamases is not sulbactam. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the composition is in the form of a powder or solution. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the beta-lactam antibiotic or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is present in an amount of from about 0.01 g to about 10 g. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the sulbactam or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is present in an amount of from about 0.01 g to about 10 g. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the beta-lactamase inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is present in an amount of from about 0.01 g to about 10 g. A method of preventing or treating a bacterial infection in an individual comprising administering to said individual a pharmaceutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1.7. A method of preventing or treating bacterial infection in an individual where said infection is caused by bacteria producing one or more beta-lactamase enzymes comprising administering to said individual a pharmaceutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1.8. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein the beta-lactam antibiotic or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a sulbactam or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the beta-lactamase inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is present in an amount of from about 0.01 g to about 10 g.
