PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic microscope which can perform high-speed scanning and whose detection accuracy can be improved over a wide range of scan.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic microscope 10 includes an object lens 13, a photo scanning part 12, a photoacoustic wave detecting part 15, and a synthesis part 20. The object lends 13 makes a sample S to be irradiated with an excitation light L. The photo scanning part 12 deflects the excitation light L and makes it scan the sample S along at least a first scanning direction. The photoacoustic wave detecting part 15 has a plurality of detectors. The plurality of detectors are arranged along a first array direction corresponding to the first scanning direction. The detectors detect a photoacoustic wave generated from the sample S by the irradiation with the excitation light L.
