A medical probe, including a flexible insertion tubehaving a deformable distal end for insertion into a bodycavity of a patient, the deformable distal end including aflexible and porous material configured to be brought intocontact with tissue in the body cavity. The medical probealso includes a means for inflating the deformable distalend, and a channel contained within the insertion tube andconfigured to convey a fluid generating a mechanical forcesufficient to inflate the deformable distal end and thatirrigates the tissue through pores of the deformable distalend. Themedical probe further includes an electricalconductor passing through the flexible insertion tube andterminating in the deformable distal end and configured toconvey radio frequency (RF) energy to the tissue via thedeformable distal end.
