Provided are methods and associated instruments and devices for preventing clouding of a medical device viewport prior to or during a medical procedure. This method involves applying a plasma to the viewport prior to use, thereby making the surface of the viewport very hydrophilic. This method removes or at least significantly reduces the blur due to haze.
