Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for controlling wireless power transfer to an electric vehicle using an object detection sensor. The method using the object detection sensor comprises the following steps: detecting whether or not an object exists between a power transmission pad and a power receiving pad mounted on the electric vehicle by using the object detection sensor； controlling the power transmission pad when the object is not detected to transmit wireless power to the power receiving pad； and generating ultrasonic waves using an ultrasonic generator when the object is sensed after the detection step. Therefore, stability due to the wireless power transmission can be improved.물체 감지 센서를 이용한 무선 전력 전송 제어 방법 및 무선 전력 전송 제어 장치가 개시된다. 물체 감지 센서를 이용한 무선 전력 전송 제어 방법은, 물체 감지 센서를 이용하여, 송전 패드와 전기차에 탑재된 수전 패드 사이에 객체(object)가 존재하는지 여부를 감지하는 단계 및 객체가 감지되지 않으면, 상기 송전 패드를 제어하여 상기 수전 패드로 무선 전력을 전송하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 감지하는 단계 이후에, 상기 객체가 감지되면, 초음파 발생 장치를 이용하여 초음파를 발생시키는 단계를 더 포함한다. 따라서, 무선 전력 전송에 따른 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
