The invention relates to a green wall including a structure consisting of prismatic racks (1) arranged horizontally and/or vertically adjacent to one another. Each rack has a frame (2) which supports grid or mesh surfaces (3 to 8). The racks are filled with a planting substrate such that plants may grow at least on the front surfaces thereof. The front side of the racks (1) includes a covering consisting of panels or shells (13) comprising pre-bored openings (14) provided for planting and growing plants, the panels or shells (13) also being useful for retaining the planting substrate. Said panels or shells (13) are advantageously moulded or thermoformed synthetic parts.
