A system for implanting a shoulder prosthesis in a scapula of a patient comprises a primary glenoid component including an anchor adapted to be implanted within the scapula of the patient in a primary surgical procedure, and a secondary glenoid component adapted to be implanted within the scapula of the patient in a secondary surgical procedure. The secondary glenoid component includes a platform having an anchor extending from it, and a glenosphere component attachable to the platform and having a surface that articulates upon a bearing surface of a humeral cup and which forms a reverse secondary glenoid component. The anchor of the secondary glenoid component includes features similar to features of the anchor of the primary glenoid component.
