The present invention relates to an apparatus for preparing salted Chinese cabbages using functional salt water. The apparatus comprises: a first tank provided with at least one functionality giving layer for giving functionality to salt water; at least one filter tank for filtering residual materials contained in the salt water discharged from the first tank; a storage tank for storing the salt water discharged from the filter tank; and a salting tank for receiving the salt water from the storage tank to salt Chinese cabbages piled therein. The apparatus for preparing salted Chinese cabbages according to the present invention further comprises: a drainage unit provided at the bottom end of the salting tank to drain the salt water; and a cleaning water supply unit provided at one side of the salting tank to supply cleaning water for cleaning the salted Chinese cabbages after the draining of the salt water. The apparatus for preparing salted Chinese cabbages according to the present invention can make kimchi, which is good for the human health compared with a conventional apparatus for preparing salted Chinese cabbages, since the salted Chinese cabbages are prepared by using salt water, to which functional components are given from the functional giving layer, instead of normal salt.
